June Leadership Timing Guide: Best Dates for Conversations, Decisions and New Beginnings

Timing really does matter….

One of the most common questions I get asked is:

"When would be a good time to have that conversation?"

Whether it's asking for a pay rise, giving feedback, signing a contract or launching a new project, timing can make a surprising difference.

As a leadership coach, I encourage people to think carefully about when they have important conversations and make significant decisions. Alongside the practical considerations, I also use a tool called electional astrology to identify periods that may be more supportive for certain activities.

You don't need to know anything about astrology to find this useful.

Think of it as a monthly guide to being more intentional about timing.

Here are my favourite windows for June.

Best Dates for Difficult Conversations

7th-9th June

If you've been putting off an important conversation, this may be one of the most supportive periods of the month.

Themes of compassion, understanding, support and relationship-building are particularly strong. This doesn't mean difficult conversations become easy, but it may be easier to approach them with empathy and a genuine desire to find common ground.

Ideal for:

  • Giving constructive feedback

  • Resolving conflict

  • Rebuilding trust

  • Asking for support

  • Having a heart-to-heart conversation

Best Dates for Career Conversations and Pay Rise Discussions

16th-17th June

These dates stand out for agreements, commitments and tying up loose ends.

If you've been preparing to discuss your development, promotion opportunities or future career plans, this could be a useful window to explore those conversations.

Ideal for:

  • Career development discussions

  • Promotion conversations

  • Pay rise requests

  • Securing buy-in for an idea

  • Important stakeholder meetings

Best Dates for Learning, AI Skills and Personal Development

27th-28th June

As someone passionate about helping women build confidence in an AI-powered world, I couldn't ignore this one.

These dates strongly support learning, study, curiosity and expanding your horizons.

Ideal for:

  • Starting a course

  • Learning a new AI tool

  • Exploring ChatGPT or Copilot

  • Investing in coaching

  • Strategic thinking and future planning

Best Dates for New Beginnings

Throughout the month

June feels like a month of growth, connection and learning rather than dramatic action.

If you're considering a new project, focus on building strong foundations, nurturing relationships and taking steady steps forward rather than rushing towards an outcome.

Sometimes progress isn't about moving faster.

It's about choosing the right moment.

Final Thoughts

Whether you believe timing is influenced by psychology, intuition, astrology or simply good judgement, one thing is certain:

The most successful leaders rarely leave important conversations entirely to chance.

They think about what they want to say, how they want to say it and when the other person is most likely to hear it.

If you've got a difficult conversation, career discussion or important decision coming up this month, perhaps these dates will give you a useful starting point.
